Hello all,

I have seen some messages in the archives reporting problems with name
resolution through the Socks server but none of them (at least none of
the recent ones) with a response or any help from Hummingbird teams..

I'm experiencing the same kind of problem (PROXY-NAME not working) on a
XP SP2 box, where I have even sniffed the traffic to make sure what was
going on, and I noticed the client just dont work on the DNS
resolution.. There is only communication with the server after DNS
resolutions has completed.

Even with a simple config like the one below it doesnt work.

BIND-MODULE ftp
PROXY-NAME @= 10.1.1.1 <http://10.1.1.1>

direct 10.0.0.0 <http://10.0.0.0> <http://255.0.0.0> 255.0.0.0
direct x.x.x.x y.y.y.y
sockd5 @= 10.1.1.1 <http://10.1.1.1> 0.0.0.0 <http://0.0.0.0> 0.0.0.0
<http://0.0.0.0>

It seems I'm not the only one with this kind of problem and we would
appreciate any help.

Best regards,

Antonio
