is it possible to use Socks to get MS ftp through proxy?

Hi there,
Our client requests that we user a certain program that some consultant has
written for him a long time ago. This program uses standard Microsoft ftp,
but we do not want to allow ftp out of our LAN. We do have a proxy server
that speaks socks and works fine with other ftp clients.
Do I understand your product description right, that Hummingbird SOCKS would
allow my software to run normally while the SOCKS client software redirects
all ftp traffic through our socks-proxy?
